Head Coach Chris Twomey
Head Coach Chris Twomey brings 19 years of competitive swim coaching experience to LeisureFit Competition Swim, and is a Silver level Accredited Coach - with experience in the UK, Sydney, Perth, Queensland and Ireland.
Chris also has a number of qualifications including a Bachelor Degree in Sport Studies and a Master of Education in Sports Coaching.
He has also coached a number of Western Australian record holders across multiple events and age groups.
Chris believes competitive swimming was perceived as solely chasing personal best times and winning medals, however his philosophy is based around the constant need of having fun and striving for improvement.
“It’s not about the destination, it’s the journey that counts,” he said.
Assistant Coach Shannon Doody
Assistant Coach Shannon Doody has been a swimmer for 17 years and was coached by Kareena Preston. She has also competed within the club for 10 years and is also involved heavily within the club as a committee member. Shannon has experienced numerous trips to Broome with the team and has travelled to Adelaide with WA School Sports to compete in the Pan Pacific School Games.
Shannon has studied PE Studies in school and has a Certificate 2 in Sport and Recreation. She also has a current First Aid qualification and Working With Children Check.
Shannon is a Bronze level Accredited Coach. She believes in having fun but also getting the job done. She enjoys attending competitions for the team atmosphere and to support individual swimmers progression and improvements.
